When our founder, Mrs. Stanley, began designing and creating commemorative patches for her Girl Scout troop back in the early 1970's she could barely have imagined some of her designs and ideas would be carried into this century.

Back then, emblems were more expensive and orders demanded larger quantities. Realizing it was necessary to maintain the troops' budget, Mrs. Stanley had to create a design, contract with manufacturer to produce her emblems, and then sell the excess to neighboring troops. Before long she was creating designs and taking orders for larger events, and in more distant areas. She had unknowingly become an entrepreneur.

Remaining true to her initial passion of being a positive influence amoung the Girl Scouts, Mrs. Stanley dedicated more time to her new niche - providing her fellow Girl Scout leaders with affordable and enduring methods of commemorating advancements by the youth group members.

Before long, she and her husband were fully engulfed in this "hobby" and had no choice but to ultimately enter the process of manufacturing the emblems themselves.

Now, more than 30 years later, Design-it, inc. remains true to Mrs. Stanley's vision and produces the most comprehensive compilation of youth group emblems in the United States. We still do our own manufacturing and have become one of the largest embroidered emblem manufacturers in the United States. And through our growth we remain commited to Mrs. Stanley's vision of providing affordable and enduring logos of appreciation and advancement.
